Maarten Blommaert studied Dutch law at Leiden University, majoring in Business, Law and Management. Maarten has been an attorney since 2006 and started his career at a large multidisciplinary law firm. Subsequently, Maarten was a founder and partner at a law firm focusing on corporate law and insolvency law / restructuring.
Maarten advises and litigates on a variety of corporate law issues. This often concerns (the enforcement of) securities, forms of cooperation, commercial contracts, shareholder disputes and director's liability.
Maarten is also an expert in the field of financing and restructuring and insolvency law. From this background, Maarten has frequently been appointed by the court as receiver in bankruptcies. With this experience, Maarten regularly advises and guides companies and entrepreneurs who find themselves in (financial) difficulties.Maarten has successfully completed the Grotius specialization courses in Insolvency Law (INSOLAD) and Corporate and Company Law (cum laude). Maarten is also a member of INSOLAD (Association of Insolvency Lawyers).
